Justification
To assist research of the potential for tropospheric openings from the west of Scotland to all of the UK and
into continental Europe.
The beamwidth chosen provides coverage to all of England, Wales, Southern Scotland and much of Northern Ireland. Under
tropospheric lift conditions the beacon should be heard in much of Germany, all of Holland, Belguim, Northern France and much
of Eire. Care has been taken to place the new Air Traffic Control radar in Kincardine within a rear offside null
of the antenna so reception in Scandanavia will be marginal at best.
To assist research into the utilisation of Aircraft Scatter on different microwave bands from a location in line
with most UK flight paths (NW-SE).
Proposal Feedback
Feedback for this proposal is sought from microwave operators throughout the UK and continental Europe.
Support or valid objection.
Please take a moment to provide your feedback which is very important in applying for these beacons to become operational
and please indicate which beacon band (23cm, 13cm, 9cm) your feedback refers to or all if that is the case.
